This position provides technical and instructional support in a higher education computer lab setting; support students with technological literacy to include tutoring students with Microsoft Office applications, programming languages; assist with help desk support, computer programs, learning management systems and a variety of computer hardware and software applications. Essential Functions 50% - Assists students with software, hardware and instructional questions pertaining to course materials to include tutoring; assists students with computer procedures (DUO, password authentication) for access, and maintains the assigned computer lab and troubleshoots hardware/software, configures and supports system components and installations. 20% - Assists with preparing and evaluating statistical data on student use of facilities and programs, inputs and tracks student data, facility use, and support; works with data to plan for. 20% - Provides customer service support and reinforcement of classroom instruction; assists in providing workshops to students regarding technology education; communicates effectively orally and in writing to establish working relationships with individuals in performing assigned duties; works on special projects such as instructional guides, handouts. 10% - Performs other duties as assigned commensurate to the grade level of the position. Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience such as providing assistance to students in an instructional setting; and/or preparing, maintaining and delivering equipment, supplies or other related instructional materials used for laboratory activities in area of assignment. OR High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of full-time equivalent experience such as providing assistance to students in an instructional setting; and/or preparing, maintaining and delivering equipment, supplies or other related instructional materials used for laboratory activities in area of assignment. An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered . Desired Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree or certificate/training in computer technology or related field. 2. Two (2) or more years of experience in computing technology such as office applications, programming, multimedia, etc. 3. Two (2) or more years' experience working with computer science courses (BPC, CSC, CIS, and MST). 4. Two years' experience using administrative and instructional support learning assistance technologies (e.g., TutorTrac, Canvas, Blackboard, Cranium Cafe, LMS, etc.), MS Office including video tutorials and presentations as it applies to this position. 5. Two (2) or more years' experience working in a computer laboratory learning center in an institution of higher education or similar setting and collecting statistical data. 6. One (1) year experience tutoring all levels of computer courses for a diverse population of students in a high school, college or university computer lab. Special Working Conditions May include weekends. May require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending, stooping, and prolonged viewing of CRT (computer monitor) screen. The incumbent will be required to work in an area of light noise levels daily.
