The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Job Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide the web operations and creative teams to design icons, graphics, heros, and images for the web
  • Lead and guide the user experience, testing, and web teams to create designs for tests and personalizations
  • Lead and guide the web operations team to help suggest user experience and design best practices for a variety of pages
  • Must have senior level knowledges and experience to build certain pages or experiences inside Adobe Experience Manager as needed
  • Design often complex graphics suitable for web experiences, both mobile and desktop
  • Maintaining a knowledge base of accessibility standards and ensure designs are compliant and up to date
  • Present designs to stakeholders and guide the decision making processes making adjustments based on needs of multiple departments
  • Lead in the communication and collaboration between Marketing Operations and Creative, ensuring that there is solid communication and connection between the groups
  • Manage complex and senior level brand designs, university-wide creative projects, etc. as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Senior level knowledge of of A/B testing and how to design for A/B tests
  • Experience combining accessibility, web design, and UX design best practices
  • Senior level experience with Figma, Adobe Experience Manager, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Proven track record of creating complex designs that are centered around user journeys
  • Demonstrate understanding of UX and UI standards as a subject matter expert
  • Senior level knowledge and experience mobile web design
  • Strong design conceptual understanding
  • Strong communication skills and a creative mindset
  • Team player with an attitude of collaboration with other teams.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with UX design
  • 4+ years of experience with design software such as Figma
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of CMS systems such as AEM
  • 4+ years of in-house or agency experience as a UX/UI designer with a focus on web experiences

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position & Application Details
