Job Overview

The Automation Technician will safely maintain all assets within an automated warehouse facility, including conveyance systems and other electromechanical components; dock doors, levelers, and other facility equipment; while actively supporting the operation to ensure all equipment is running per the efficiency and effectiveness of its design. This role will utilize technical expertise to make operational and, or strategic decisions based on the condition of equipment or other factors; properly record work performed and communicated using the tools and processes provided, such as accountability of time and materials used.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure automated warehousing system is operating effectively and efficiently by actively monitoring, assessing, and repairing, as needed
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance of automation equipment to prevent downtime or reduction in efficiency
  • Maintain facility equipment in both a corrective and preventative capacity
  • Support of the operation in a variety of functions within the facility
  • Report and communicate work performed, recommended, or required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Electrical experience
  • Basic understanding of PLCs
  • Ability to utilize software platforms to perform the required reporting and administrative elements of the position: SAP, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Ability to execute and communicate effectively and with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand up to 10 hours per day and lift, up-to 50 pounds

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years of education beyond high school in college or technical school
  • Knowledge acquired through 1-3 years of work experience
  • 2+ years maintenance experience in a production, facility, or automation environment
  • Understanding of electrical safety

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of education beyond high school in college or technical school in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering
  • Electrical experience

Work Environment

Noisy and non-temperature-controlled environment
