Consulting Services Group is currently seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Open Source Research Analyst to support a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) customer in conducting comprehensive open-source intelligence (OSINT) research and analysis. The analyst will leverage publicly available information (PAI) to support national security, strategic initiatives, and decision-making processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, geopolitical awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, security-focused environment.

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct open-source research and analysis using a variety of online platforms, databases, and tools to identify, collect, and assess relevant information.
  • Compile and produce actionable analytical products, reports, and briefings tailored to client requirements.
  • Apply tradecraft best practices and ensure compliance with DoD policies regarding the collection and use of PAI.
  • Collaborate with intelligence analysts, linguists, and subject matter experts across DoD and interagency partners.
  • Conduct detailed research using OSINT tools such as Google Advanced Search, Maltego, Shodan, etc.
  • Monitor foreign media, social networks, forums, and other online environments for emerging threats, geopolitical trends, and relevant intelligence indicators.
  • Maintain awareness of open-source intelligence trends, emerging technologies, and adversary tactics.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Must have a current/active DOD Top Secret Security / SCI (eligible)
  • Must have 3+ years of relevant OSINT, all-source analysis, or intelligence community (IC) experience.
  • Must have proven ability to analyze and interpret large volumes of open-source data in support of national security objectives.
  • Must have Microsoft Excel proficiency with data cleaning, sorting, pivot tables, and visualizations
  • Must have familiarity with advanced Microsoft Excel functions such as: VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, Macros, conditional formatting
  • Must have Microsoft PowerPoint proficiency with ability to create professional and visually engaging presentations for executive-level briefings.
  • Must have excellent analytical writing, critical thinking, and briefing skills. Proficiency in using OSINT tools, geospatial platforms, and social media analysis tools.
  • Must have familiarity with DoD and IC terminology, mission sets, and operational environments.
  • Must have experience working with or supporting the DoD, IC, or combatant commands-preferably with cyber-related missions.
  • Must have ability to synthesize large volumes of information into actionable insights.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting government clients or military organizations with OSINT or all-source intelligence.
  • Prior experience in one of the following military job specialties: Air Force AFSC 1N0X1, Army 35F, Marine Corps PMOS 0231, Navy Rating IS-10, DoD GS-0132.
  • Familiarity with influence operations, online radicalization, or foreign malign influence campaigns.
  • Regional expertise (e.g., Russia, China, Iran, North Korea).
  • Foreign language proficiency (e.g., Russian, Mandarin, Farsi, Korean

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Intelligence, International Affairs, or related field; Master's degree is a plus.

Job location: Onsite in Woodbridge, VA. Remote telework is not available.

Other:

This is a full time position working normal workday hours, Monday to Friday, with weekends and holidays off. Occasional local travel in the Washington Metropolitan area required.
