The Service Line Manager for Transplant will lead and oversee multiple transplant programs, each with unique clinical and operational characteristics. This role emphasizes programmatic oversight across the entire continuum of care, including inpatient and outpatient coordination and care delivery. The Manager will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure exceptional patient care, efficient program operations, and the professional development of team members. This position is integral to the overall success of UVA's transplant services, balancing clinical practice, program management, and team leadership.
Clinical Practice (5-10%):
- Provide patient care, including pre-and post-transplant evaluation and management
- Educate patients and families about the transplant process
Program Management (60%):
- Manage the daily clinical operations of the transplant program, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring continuity of care throughout the transplant process.
- Oversee aspects of the program such as waitlist management, organ offer evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Analyze program data and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop policies and procedures pertaining to staff roles, responsibilities, and professional development within the transplant program to ensure program efficiency and compliance.
- Participate in new clinical program development and strategic planning.
- Serve as a resource and educator for staff and trainees.
Staff Leadership (15%):
- Manage, support, and be accountable for the day-to-day operations and quality of output from the entire transplant program staff, including APPs and other clinical team members.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct regular staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison between the transplant team and departmental leadership, facilitating communication and ensuring alignment with program goals.
- Manage recruitment, performance, team member engagement, and retention activities of assigned staff.
- Collaborate with other managers and leaders across UVA Health on initiatives and goals related to the success of the program.
Administrative Oversight (15%):
- Develop programs that address continuous quality improvement, system enhancement, streamlined processes, patient experience, and overall nurse performance.
- Ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements specific to the programs supervised.
- Develop and manage partnerships with clinicians, physicians, and administrative counterparts to achieve common goals and promote the integration of multidisciplinary work groups.
Position Compensation Range: $115,793.60 - $185,265.60 Annual
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Virginia licensure as an RN, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant
- Master's degree required
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of transplant experience is required.
