POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, a Division 1 and Big Ten Conference Institution, is seeking a Director of External Operations for Football. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Chief of Staff and Director of Football Administration with various regular season, post season and bowl travel responsibilities and manage and execute special projects as assigned by the Chief of Staff or Head Football Coach

  • Develop, lead, manage, evaluate and provide semester grades for four operations interns

  • Accompany the Head Football Coach to speaking events that can be used to recruit supporters and obtain donations

  • Oversee creative process of design as it pertains to construction, environmental graphics, clothing/licensing, Journey to Success presentations and social media

  • Act as the Football program's liaison to: Strategic Communications (media requests and press release, quotes, etc); Creative Services (Football social media planning and approval); Media and Video Productions (Football video approval and ideas); Penn State Sports Properties (Football sponsorship fulfillment); Alumni Association; Marketing (Football marketing plan, gameday environment, etc)

  • Plan, organize and execute the special events

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

If filled as Athletic Operations Specialist - Principal Professional, this position requires: Bachelor's Degree 8+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None If filled as Athletic Operations Specialist - Senior Professional, this position requires: Bachelor's Degree 6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $61,800.00 - $102,300.00.
