Corewell Health Laboratory Services at William Beaumont University Hospital, in Royal Oak, supports all Corewell Health East (CHE) hospital locations. We perform most testing onsite, although there are samples sent out. This Supervisor Laboratory Processing, working in collaboration with the Manager Lab Support Services and another Supervisor, will lead a team of nineteen direct reports scheduled over the shifts of this 24 hour/7 day a week facility.

Our ideal candidate will be familiar with a laboratory and its processes, an analytical thinker able to assess workflow and priorities, at times guiding the team in a new direction to keep the lab functioning at optimal performance levels.

Scope of work

Responsible for coordinating and managing day to day processing, and at certain campuses phlebotomy, laboratory operation. Responsible for staff supervision, training, patient/client concerns, process improvement, maintenance of procedure manuals and staff training. This position reports to the Lab Manager Processing or Lab Operations Director.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree Preferred.
  • Five years of relevant experience (specimen processing and/or collection) Required.
  • Seven years of relevant experience (specimen processing and/or collection) Preferred.
  • One+ years of relevant supervisory experience Required.
  • Commercial laboratory experience/patient registration Preferred.
