TOOLROOM/REPAIRER A

GENERAL FUNCTION: Repairs small to medium size tools that are air, pneumatic and or electrical in nature that are utilized through out the facility. Orders necessary parts and material to conduct repairs. Repairs and test equipment. Assist with the issuance of tools to employees as needed.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:

Repairs small to medium size tools that are of air, pneumatic and or electrical in nature, such as come-a-longs, chain falls, diaphragm pumps, grinders, scaling guns, torches, bottle jacks and porta-power, to name a few.

Once repaired, test equipment to ensure safety and proper funcition

Orders parts and material to repair equipment.

Assist with the issuance of tools to employees.

Stores repaired equipment is appropriate areas for easy retrieval.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of tools used for repair of equipment i.e. wrenches, screwdrivers and various hand tools.

Familiar with hydraulics, electrical schematics and/or drawings and blueprints.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Prior experience in a shipyard environment or industry utilizing small tools and equipment.
