Sr. Archaeologist

We are currently seeking Sr. Archaeologists for our client who supports FEMA disaster relief efforts across the United States. FEMA's mission is to support citizens and first responders to ensure that as a Nation, we work together to build, sustain, and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.

Pay: $60/hr.

REMOTE

Project: Puerto Rico


Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct site assessments; and write damage descriptions and dimensions (DDD), scopes of work (SOW) to repair/replace damaged public infrastructure, and develop cost estimates for the Federal funding of the projects.
  • Formulate Project Worksheets (PWs) for the purposes of determining project eligibility, defining scopes of work and estimating costs to repair or replace a facility or structure in order to restore it to its pre-disaster design and capacity.
  • Provide other technical, cost estimating, and disaster recovery and/or management services while supporting technical professionals.
  • Monitor construction work to ensure compliance with approved SOWs, FEMA Public Assistance policies, and procedures.
  • Provide reporting and management capabilities (i.e., quality assurance/quality control, data collection, technical writing) to assist in managing the overall efficiency of the disaster operation.


Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Archaeology, Historical Architecture, History, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as an archaeologist, architectural historian, historical architect, and/or NEPA Specialist.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to pass a FBI background check prior to becoming eligible to deploy. This background check process is extremely time sensitive and qualified candidates must be willing to complete the process within 7 days.
  • Ability to mobilize within 24-48 hours, commit to up to 6 months or longer on a disaster operation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office product suite.
  • Due to the nature of the work, candidates must have significant focus and experience in providing excellent customer service, attention to detail. and must have excellent communication (writing and verbal) skills.
