Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Procurement Manager will lead a team of supervisors and individual contributors overseeing the company's procurement processes and ensuring the timely and cost-efficient acquisition of goods and services. This role involves developing supplier relationships, managing budgets, and implementing strategies to enhance supply chain performance, reducing costs, and collaborating with internal departments to ensure alignment of business objectives and compliance with policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties as assigned.



  • Monitor and analyze monthly, and yearly trends and adjust resources accordingly.
  • Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes, and policies.
  • Ensure the team is properly trained and following the most current policies, procedures and processes.
  • Review and rationalize daily purchases to optimize profit and minimize inventory risk.
  • Act as an escalation point for critical Procurement matters.
  • Develop and review metrics ongoing to ensure the team is meeting and/or exceeding internal and external customer goals and requirements.
  • Ensure resources are appropriately balanced and adequately resourced to meet the business demand.
  • Recruit, hire and onboard staff as needed.
  • Monitor employee performance, providing day-to-day coaching and formal evaluations.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with the company quality management system (QMS).

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field, or equivalent work
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required, including 3 years of experience leading teams.
  • CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification a plus.



SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:



  • (ICC) Must be a US Citizen due to Naval Contractual Agreements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong Critical Thinking skills
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Excellent knowledge of procurement principles, policies, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing complex supplier networks in manufacturing, distribution, or relevant industries.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative
work.)
