Job Summary
Are you ready to bring your energy and passion for dance to the stage-or rather, our Community Center? Join us this summer at the North Kirkland Community Center for an exciting week-long Dance Sampler Camp! You'll be co-teaching a fun mix of ballet, hip hop, jazz, and lyrical dance styles to youth ages 6-12 in a collaborative, group-focused environment. Performance on last day of camp.

As an instructor, you'll be responsible for planning and leading engaging, age-appropriate choreography and activities that help students build confidence, learn new skills, and express themselves through movement.

We're looking for someone with strong communication skills, creativity, and a genuine love for teaching dance. Experience working with kids is a plus!

Dance Instructor - Summer Dance Camp
Location: North Kirkland Community Center
Camp Dates: Monday-Friday, July 21-25
Camp Hours: 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Ages: 6-12


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Good verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to interact courteously with the public.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated good judgement in problem solving and responding to customer needs.
  • Proficiency in standard computer software.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have 2 years of dance experience.
  • Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification by start date.
  • Must successfully complete a thorough background check as required by the Child/Abuse Information Act.
  • Must be at least 17 years of age.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a community center setting, with high levels of noise. Must have ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. Must be able to walk, climb, bend and stoop to complete tasks.
