Data Center Technician Location: Sandston, VA
Job Description: Join our dynamic team as a Network Technician supporting critical infrastructure upgrades in a fast-paced data center environment. This hands-on role is ideal for professionals with a solid foundation in fiber optics and data center operations who are ready to take their skills to the next level. Key Responsibilities: * Unrack and decommission outdated network equipment * Rack and stack new hardware with precision and care * Install and remove fiber circuit jumpers to support evolving network configurations * Populate switch ports with optical transceivers * Box and unbox network equipment for deployment * Troubleshoot fiber optic circuits using tools like VFL, power meters, and loopbacks * Maintain accurate daily reports and strictly follow safety protocols Minimum Requirements: * Ability to read and interpret port maps * Proficient in laptop operation for basic configuration and documentation * Experience handling and running single-mode and multi-mode fiber jumpers * Solid understanding of patching and routing fiber in a data center environment Preferred Qualifications: * Experience troubleshooting fiber optic circuits using VFL, power meters, and loopbacks * Comfortable working with spreadsheets for tracking and documentation Top Skills: * Fiber Optic Cabling * WAN Support * Troubleshooting * Data Center Operations If you're a detail-oriented technician with a passion for network infrastructure and fiber optics, we'd love to hear from you! *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
