SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Account Documentation Manager, Account Maintenance Manager, and Fraud Operations & Overdraft Manager.

SUMMARY: Provides leadership and strategic direction for Deposit Operations, drives initiatives to enhance performance, manage risk, and support growth. Oversees the department to provide the accurate processing of accounts and related services, in accordance with established procedures and schedules. Responsible for the efficiency of business, overseeing and implementing ongoing automation, digitization and new technology to enhance competitiveness and organizational workflows. Ensures proper operational controls, data analytics, and administrative & reporting procedures necessary for financial strength and operating efficiency. Fosters collaborative, inclusive working relationships across the Bank. Develops and implements automation of processes, procedures, and digital technology which are in alignment with client delivery expectations and supports the Bank's overall strategic plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

OPERATIONS:

  • Manage a range of critical banking operations including account documentation, account maintenance, fraud review, overdraft management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Constantly improve processes and workflows, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and lead strategic business planning for the department.
  • Review audit & regulatory reports to comprehend and maintain control environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations and oversee the handling of legal matters and fraud claims.

TECHNOLOGY:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies and lead efforts to leverage technology for operational enhancements.
  • Engage core and ancillary vendor support for insights about improvements.
  • Assess roadmaps and optimization of existing systems.
  • Identify gaps in current technology; research and evaluate viable alternatives.
  • Create roadmap and timelines as appropriate.
  • Budget and implement as appropriate.

MANAGEMENT:

  • Provide leadership and vision to direct and indirect reports to ensure staffing levels and the coordination of people and processing of work.
  • Establish departmental goals, objectives, and operational procedures.
  • Develop and implement a strategic Deposit Operations Business Plan.
  • Responsible for management of staffing needs, team development, performance management, education and training needs, retention and organization of the Deposit Operations team.
  • Work jointly as a strategic partner with Retail, Technical Solutions, and Centers of Excellence to meet the needs of technology, efficient use, and reliable performance to ensure best practices.

TEAM DEVELOPMENT:

  • Lead and develop a skilled team, fostering a continuous improvement mindset and nurturing personal and professional development. Hire team members when required. Regularly manage performance through quarterly reviews and frequent one-on-one discussions.
  • Proactively seek and implement training opportunities for team members, promoting knowledge expansion and cross-functional skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Recognize current business challenges and emerging digital operational trends.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities to achieve short- and long-term goals.
  • Must demonstrate independent thought and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to leverage cross-functional teams and projects to achieve project goals and resolve issues.
  • Ability to motivate in a team oriented and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communications skills to bridge gap between Operations and internal and external clients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact seamlessly to form partnerships with senior leaders, vendors, and contractors.
  • Strong comprehension and negotiation skills necessary for technology contracts, license agreements and terms and conditions.
  • Effective time and project management skills to ensure teams meet project deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years management experience in Deposit Operations, with a similar size or larger organization; 5+ years of experience with process transformation
  • Experience bringing together cross functional operations teams and executing change.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly required.
