THE ROLE
The Managing Director is the strategic and operational leader of a one-of-a-kind standalone food, beverage, and entertainment venue in Santa Monica. In this on-site role, this individual is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business with a focus on revenue growth, operational excellence, elevated guest experiences, and a deep integration into the local community. As the visionary leader, the Managing Director must bring both business acumen and hospitality passion to ensure the venue achieves relevance in the market, drives profitability, and becomes an iconic destination and celebrated space for the performing arts.
You will be expected to develop and execute a comprehensive business plan, lead by example in service and culture, and serve as the face of the venue to the community. A successful candidate will balance tactical operations with long-term strategic planning, ensuring every element of the guest and team member experience aligns with the brand's positioning and purpose.

Designed for discovery and connection, the venue blends world-class culinary and beverage programs with nightly artistic expression, from interpretive dance and spoken word to micro theater and live music. Tucked into a landmark compound in Santa Monica, PASH invites guests into a new era of multidisciplinary dining and entertainment rooted in precision, artistry, and hospitality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Execution
- Develop and implement long-term business strategies aligned with ownership's vision.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to grow revenue, expand market relevance, and enhance profitability.
- Act as a brand steward, ensuring every guest interaction reflects the unique identity and positioning of the venue.
- Collaborate with artistic leadership to integrate a compelling calendar of performances and experiences that reflect the multidimensional vision of PASH.
- Partner with ownership and the management company to regularly assess performance, optimize financial outcomes, and execute high-level initiatives.
- Establish and oversee training programs and service standards to ensure exceptional guest experiences at every touchpoint.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee day-to-day operations across food & beverage, entertainment, and events to ensure service quality and brand consistency.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing management team with a strong focus on culture, accountability, and development.
- Monitor and manage key performance indicators across departments (e.g., revenue, cost control, labor, guest satisfaction).
- Lead the budget planning process; track and manage against forecasted financial goals.
Guest Experience & Brand Building
- Champion a guest-first mentality at every level of the operation, ensuring memorable and personalized experiences.
- Partner closely with culinary and beverage leaders to maintain exceptional quality, creativity, and execution in all offerings.
- Guide marketing and programming efforts, including grassroots activations and partnerships that drive traffic and enhance brand visibility.
- Partner with the marketing team to support PR, content, and event strategies that amplify the PASH voice.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the face of the venue to the community, cultivating relationships with local businesses, artisans, influencers, and civic organizations.
- Represent the venue at key events, in media appearances, and within professional and community groups.
- Foster a spirit of giving back through philanthropy, local sourcing, and active participation in neighborhood initiatives.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES
- Minimum of 5 years of executive-level leadership in high-volume restaurants, experiential dining, or entertainment venues. (multi-unit or multi-concept preferred).
- A love for the arts, an appreciation for storytelling, and a passion for delivering unforgettable guest experiences.
- Strong financial literacy with a proven track record of growing revenue and profitability while building strong, high-performing teams.
- Deep knowledge of food and beverage operations, event execution, and experiential marketing.
- Financial fluency with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage with guests, team members, owners, and media alike.
- Prior experience in creative or entertainment-forward hospitality environments (e.g., dinner theaters, music venues, immersive concepts).
- Familiarity with Santa Monica / Los Angeles food, beverage, and cultural landscapes.
- Background in programming, event production, or creative partnerships a plus.

COMPENSATION:
The salary will range from $200,000 to $225,000.
