About the Opportunity
We are looking for a full-time Test Engineer to join Oxford Instruments Asylum Research team in Santa Barbara to support the testing of our Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) product lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete standardized tests and generate test reports to ensure optimal system performance
- Troubleshoot systems and perform repairs as required during testing
- Generate and maintain technical documentation for all test and troubleshooting procedures
- Interface with technical staff in other departments for manufacturing and product development support
- Provide excellent customer support via email, phone and in person as needed
- Other duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, electronics, physics or equivalent practical experience.
- At least one year of hands-on engineering experience
- The ability to interpret schematics, and an aptitude for mechanical/electronic/optical design.
- Strong attention to detail along with excellent manual dexterity and an affinity to working with precision parts.
- A self-starter attitude and commitment to producing high quality work against sometimes demanding deadlines.
- The ability to excel and communicate in a customer-focused team environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Preferred Qualifications
- One+ year(s) of SPM/AFM experience.
Salary
In accordance with California law, the expected salary for this full-time, benefited position is between $77,000 - $81,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
