The Senior Compliance Analyst will actively participate in the Compliance Department's mission to prevent, detect, and manage consumer compliance risk. The Senior Compliance Analyst will monitor and assess business unit practices for compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations with a focus on lending-related regulations, in support of the Bank's Compliance Management System (CMS). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform regularly scheduled lending compliance monitoring, including reviews of loan files, as well as periodic statements, disclosures, and documents and processes to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal lending requirements such as the Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Homeowners Protection Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and other Federal and State applicable laws and regulations.
- Analyse and document findings and their root cause in written workpapers and in the institution's GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tool
- Collaborate as necessary with business units to discuss identified findings and propose corrective action, and remediation
- Maintain rapport with business lines and assist in interpreting and answering regulation-specific questions
- Collaborate with peers on the development of or revisions to compliance-related policies and procedures. Perform gap analysis by comparing the contents of compliance-related procedures to regulatory requirements
- Assist with the preparation of written reports and other material for the quarterly Business Unit Compliance Meetings
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of the Bank's products, services, operational areas, and practices
- Assist Department Management with regulatory examinations and internal and/or external audit requests, including preparing materials and developing responses
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
- Be available to learn/perform monitoring in other consumer compliance-related areas
- Provide support where needed and remain available for special projects or ad hoc assignments
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of audit or compliance experience in a bank setting
- Experience with lending-related consumer protection laws and regulations (experience with loan servicing compliance review a plus)
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and draw sound conclusions
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to write clearly and concisely; especially policies, procedures, and reports
- Excellent organizational and project management skills - ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
