Full Pay Range: $62,000 - $102,500 annually

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

We Require

  • Two years of human resources experience in a governmental organization, including experience with ADA and FMLA matters

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Human Resources Management, Personnel Management, Public/Business Administration, or a related field

  • Job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

  • Experience in employee relations, people management, and recruitment

  • Experience in providing consultative recommendations regarding Human Resources matters and communication plans

  • Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), or International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) Certification

  • Experience with the Workday HRIS platform

Job Contributions

  • Advises supervisors and managers on a variety of human resources policies and functions, such as employee performance management, selection, discipline, leave issues, and grievance resolution

  • Provides guidance and counsel to department management and employees regarding employee relations issues, recommends appropriate level of discipline, and mediates with management and employees to facilitate resolutions and interventions

  • Interprets and explains policies to supervisors, employees, and the public to ensure consistent and sound personnel management

  • Investigates, analyzes, and prepares written documents to respond to complex employee-related concerns; interfaces with legal counsel, conducts internal investigations, and drafts related reports; performs research and assists with responses to EEOC Charges, Unemployment Claims, and Merit System appeals

  • Develops and implements recruitment strategies, including identifying sources of candidates and partnering with management on the interview and selection process

  • Partners with County Compensation regarding wage offers, salary advancements, market reviews, and additional concerns related to pay

  • Consults with management to determine staffing needs and appropriate use of established positions

  • Works with management and employees to ensure equal employment opportunity law compliance, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, and Age Discrimination in Employment Act

  • Designs, develops, and delivers training presentations to management and staff

Working Conditions

  • Office environment

  • Will require travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County or private vehicles used on County business
