SUMMARY: This Junior Securities Credit Analyst is part of a group that manages the credit process and procedures for fixed income securities portfolio for BankUnited. This position helps the Director of Investment Portfolio Credit & Performance to create and run ongoing reporting and analysis designed to monitor and analyze the credit and performance of the Bank's investment portfolio.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

  • Build and maintain portfolio credit and stress testing reports.
  • Analyze, monitor and report on portfolio characteristics and performance.
  • Work closely with Investment Portfolio Credit & Performance Analyst, Portfolio Managers, and Corporate Treasury on stress testing framework and process.
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
  • Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activity.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or related quantitative field required
EXPERIENCE

  • 0-3 years of work experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Python/ SQL required
  • Working knowledge of libraries such as Pandas, NumPy etc

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong quantitative skills required
  • Familiarity and comfort with programming, analytics, business or finance a plus
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud Services, such as Lambda, Athena, Glue a plus
  • Tableau knowledge a plus
