Opportunity

We're looking for an expert technical product manager to lead Photoshop's foundational architecture and performance strategy. This is a pivotal role responsible for evolving the core technologies that power Photoshop's speed, stability, and future scalability across platforms.

You'll drive major efforts to modernize our rendering and compute architecture, migrate legacy systems to more scalable platforms, and accelerate performance through GPU and hardware optimization. This work touches nearly every part of Photoshop, from canvas rendering to feature responsiveness to long-term cross-platform consistency.

This is a principal-level individual contributor role with the potential to grow a team in the future.

What You'll Do
  • Own the vision and strategy for Photoshop's foundational platform, ensuring our core architecture supports world-class performance, reliability, and innovation.

  • Lead execution of technical modernization efforts, rebuilding or migrating core systems to be more scalable, maintainable, and performant across surfaces.

  • Partner deeply with engineering, acting as the connective tissue between architectural work and customer value.

  • Define success metrics and prioritize work based on strategic impact, engineering effort, and customer experience improvements.

  • Build alignment across teams and functions, partnering with design, engineering, research, and other PMs to drive platform-wide improvements.

What We're Looking For
  • 8-12+ years of product management experience, with at least 3-5 years passionate about technical platforms, performance, or infrastructure.

  • Experience as a Principal PM or Director-level IC, driving complex architectural initiatives in large-scale products.

  • Strong technical proficiency. Able to participate in architecture discussions, understand engineering tradeoffs, and communicate technical plans clearly.

  • Demonstrated success in modernizing legacy systems, driving platform transitions, or improving performance at scale.

  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills.

  • Experience with Photoshop or similar imaging tools. You understand how creative professionals work and care deeply about the performance and reliability of visual editing experiences.

  • Experience with creative tools, performance-critical applications, or C++-based platforms is a strong plus.

  • A passion for elegant, scalable systems and the user experiences they enable.

Why This Role Matters

Photoshop is one of the most iconic and technically sophisticated creative applications in the world. As we evolve it for new devices, surfaces, and generations of creatives, its architectural foundation must evolve too. This role ensures Photoshop stays fast, modern, and future-ready.

You'll report to the Senior Director of Product Management for Photoshop and partner closely with senior engineering leaders. You'll craft the core of what makes Photoshop great, now and for the next decade!
