The Maintenance Manager is responsible for directing the activities of the CNC Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, and Janitorial staff supporting a 70+ acre manufacturing facility featuring 10 buildings and 24x7 operations. The Manager is accountable for maintenance and repair activities for all buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment, and for management and administration of the CMMS system. Additionally, the maintenance manager will obtain quotes, select and manage contractors, and oversee capital projects, including equipment installation and relocation/retrofits. Under the direction of this leader, the maintenance team is expected to minimize unplanned disruption to the manufacturing schedule and to schedule preventive and predictive maintenance so that CNC equipment uptime is maximized and the facility is in optimal condition.

Develops and implements maintenance strategies to minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions; ensures timely completion of preventive maintenance on all equipment. Monitors equipment performance and repair history to establish appropriate predictive maintenance plans, and reacts promptly to unplanned circumstances requiring maintenance attention; mitigates potential hazards and business interruption when unplanned and emergency repair situations arise.

Participates in production and other internal meetings and collaborates with internal stakeholders regarding production scheduling, machine downtime, preventive maintenance plans, and quality issues.

Obtains quotes, evaluates vendors and bids, schedules outside services and technicians as appropriate, and ensures maintenance vendor/visitor compliance with OSHA, ITAR, safety, and other Company policies. Leverages industry experience and vendor relationships to contract with credible contractors and ensure receipt of high quality services and materials.

Monitors inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies to avoid delay in maintenance activities; monitors receipt of requisitioned parts and proactively
reschedules planned maintenance if receipt is delayed.

Implements continuous improvement (Cl) initiatives to enhance maintenance productivity and safety and reduce costs. Ensures necessary maintenance and facilities resources are available to support Cl projects across the facility.

Responsible for maintenance of lock-out, tag-out (LOTO) procedures and other relevant documentation for all powered equipment in the facility; coordinates with EHS personnel as appropriate to ensure accuracy of training and procedures; ensures maintenance department and subcontractors are compliant with LOTO when troubleshooting and/or repairing equipment.

Adheres to safety guidelines and procedures and holds team accountable to the same; proactively identifies job hazards and collaborates with EHS Manager, maintenance personnel, and others to minimize hazards and ensure employee safety. Holds primary site responsibility for LOTO, Fall Protection, and Contractor safety programs.

Records maintenance ticket information, purchase requisitions, warranty details and other relevant information in the ERP and CMMS. Maintains department metrics and performs ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making and ROI justifications for capital requests.

Adheres to safety guidelines and procedures and holds team accountable to the same; proactively identifies job hazards and collaborates with EHS Manager, maintenance personnel, and others to minimize hazards and ensure employee safety. Holds chief site responsibility for LOTO, Fall Protection, and Contractor safety programs.

Selects, trains, and manages the performance of laborers, semi-skilled and trade employees, and highly-skilled technicians; identifies and evaluates relevant external training and oversees on-the-job and compliance training to ensure competence and compliance.

Maintains a clean, organized, and safe personal and departmental work area; holds team accountable for housekeeping and organization of storage and work areas.

Sets an example for integrity, communication, and compliance for others in the organization by following policies, communicating professionally, and providing timely responses to internal customers.

Occasionally operates motor vehicle in performance of duties; valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.

Regular attendance on-site at the workplace is required.
