Position Summary |
The Alternative Formats Associate is an integral part of Accessibility & Testing and reports to the Alternative Formats Specialist. This position is primarily responsible for assisting with processing requests, ensuring high-quality standardization of service delivery, and coordinating the production of alternative text. Additionally, this position will assist student staff in the preparation of Alternative Formats materials, stay current with new accessible technology advances and trends, and aid in the implementation of coaching sessions for students with assistive technology needs. In collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, this position interacts regularly with students, faculty, and staff on campus, as well as interacts with publishers and other external resources and represents the Accessibility & Testing in those interactions. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Knowledge of accessibility production software programs, such as Adobe and ABBYY.
- Knowledge and experience with eLC platform
- Superior organizational and records maintenance skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to create, compose, and edit alternative text material.
- Ability to time manage projects and work under deadlines.
