Position Highlights |
The successful candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of a faculty member in Department of Internal Medicine while conducting research as a member of the Translational Cardiovascular Research Center (TCRC). This includes actively participating in teaching, service and scholarly work in the cardiovascular area. The candidate must qualify for an appointment at the rank of assistant research professor. This career track position is not eligible for tenure. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Conduct independent cardiovascular research in the Translational
Cardiovascular Research Center (TCRC) and to provide technical and logistic support for the Center. - Publish high impact scientific research in the area of cardiovascular
science. - Develop collaborations with pertinent faculty within
the college and partner institutions. - Contribute to the teaching and service missions of the
college. - Engage in academic activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Cardiovascular cell and molecular biology, including
use of animal models, organ models and cultured cell models of cutting edge research in the field. - State-of-the-art confocal microscopy.
- Genomics and proteomics data acquisition and analysis
- Ability to write, review and edit research papers and
grant applications. - Exhibit outstanding interpersonal communication and
professionalism.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Hold a PhD or MD/PhD in a related field, such as Anatomy, Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or Pharmacology, from an accredited university.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Demonstrated experience studying cardiovascular disease.
- Experience mentoring students and trainees in research projects.
- Experience with cell culture, animal studies, microscopy, genomics and proteomics.
- Publications of cardiovascular research in high-impact journals relevant to the field.
