LSC consists of eight colleges, seven centers, eight Workforce Centers of Excellence and Lone Star Corporate College.

The LSC-East Aldine Center, part of the larger East Aldine Town Center project, is a comprehensive educational campus that provides a mix of academic college transfer courses as well as workforce training programs in high-demand fields such as computer networking, welding, accounting and more. The center will also be home to the Aldine ISD Early College High School.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for the significant function of operating the front counter areas of the Admissions and Records Office. This position acts as a primary expert and provides advice and information to others.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. General operation of the Admissions and Records Office front desk
  2. Assisting visitors, students and instructors in a courteous manner; answers phone and email
  3. Providing information/handle matters within the scope of knowledge and responsibility
  4. Troubleshooting critical questions, inquires, and directs complaints to the appropriate person or office
  5. Creates and maintains departmental files in accordance with established guidelines
  6. Assist students with the admission process
  7. Assist students with registration activities
  8. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of office practice and procedures
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and common office software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize duties using sound customer service principles
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential
  • Ability to problem solve equipment problems

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $13.52
