Sr. iOS Engineer, Generative AI Products

Within Pinterest, the Pinterest Labs organization focuses on applied ML research and emerging product development. Labs focuses on a broad variety of AI/ML initiatives, such as core computer vision, multimodal representation learning, heterogeneous graph neural networks, generative modeling, recommender systems, etc. The Generative AI products team within Labs is tasked with bringing these technologies to life by building zero-to-one capabilities in the core Pinterest app.

The Generative AI Products team sits directly with our ML applied research team, and collaborates with a full-stack team of designers, product managers, and infrastructure engineers.

We are looking for product engineers with experience in either iOS engineering or full-stack product development, who are passionate about bringing frontier ML technology into new user experiences. An ideal candidate for this role has experience building rapid prototypes in the industry setting, and working in a zero-to-one environment. The work on this team will scale to the full half-billion+ users of Pinterest, but we welcome applicants from startup background who want to develop for a larger audience.

What you'll do:

• Prototype new product features using a combination of multimodal LLMs, recommendation systems, visual generative models, and other ML technology.

What we're looking for:

• Strong iOS engineering skills, or some example of being able to build product demos quickly. Full-stack engineers who are comfortable flexing into occasional mobile development work are welcome to apply.

We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.

• This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration once per quarter and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from the San Francisco or Palo Alto office.
