Job Purpose and Overview

The PC Technician I role is to support and maintain laptops, desktops, tablets, and peripherals. This includes installing, imaging, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading a wide range of IT hardware, software, and services. The PC Technician must provide friendly and efficient customer service and be able to communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly, in a professional manner.

Work Environment & Schedule: This role is onsite at the Dawn Foods Home Office in Jackson, MI. The working schedule is Monday-Friday between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. To be considered for this role, candidates must reside in Jackson, MI, or within a commutable distance to accommodate this work environment.

What will you do as a PC Technician Iat Dawn Foods?



  • Diagnose and troubleshoot basic problems with computer hardware and software.
  • Resolve issues in-person, via remote session, via email, via phone, and via chat.
  • Install, troubleshoot, or repair Windows applications.
  • Move, set up, and troubleshoot a computer system.
  • Image computers and transfer user data.
  • Detect and remove viruses.
  • Maintain and update documentation in the Knowledge Base.
  • Document errors, troubleshoot steps, repairs, and resolutions using the ticketing system.
  • Replace damaged or faulty computer hardware when necessary.
  • Works as a team and escalates issues to the appropriate teams.
  • Follows established processes and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.



What Does It Take to be a PC Technician I at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.



  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.




    • Will accept 2 years of PC technologies or other related training/experience in lieu of an associate's degree.


  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
  • Knowledge of Windows OS.
  • Familiarity with Anti-Virus software.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are needed to provide effective customer service.
  • The ability to analyze, summarize, and solve user problems in a calming manner.
  • Basic familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • The ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and perform a wide variety of tasks.
  • The ability to relate to all levels of the user community, translate technical language to lay audiences, and organize and manage priorities.
  • Demonstrate the "Dawn Values" of Team Dawn and support the Dawn Circle of Excellence.
  • The ability to adapt to different surroundings and situations.
  • Documentation and relationship skills.
  • Technical, analytical, and negotiation skills.

Compensation

$41,510 - $62,730 with bonus eligibility
