We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join McGraw Hill's Enterprise team, reporting to the Director of Enterprise Marketing. This role will engage with institutional leadership, including C-suite executives and key decision-makers, to identify, qualify, and nurture leads. The ideal candidate will excel in researching prospects, building a strong pipeline, and converting marketing sourced leads into qualified opportunities that drive productive meetings and revenue growth.

You will collaborate closely with marketing and sales to develop outreach strategies, refine messaging, and track activities, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and leadership goals. Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to build relationships are essential for success in this position.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States and requires up to 10% travel for the year.

What you will be doing:

  • Strategically research, identify, and engage potential institutional partners, focusing on key decision-makers such as presidents, VPs of academic affairs, deans, and other C-suite executives.
  • Execute targeted outreach campaigns via email, phone, and social media to generate interest and secure meetings with key decision makers at an institution.
  • Evaluate the priorities, challenges, and strategic goals of prospective institutions to ensure alignment with their mission, vision, and readiness for deeper engagement, particularly with senior leadership teams.
  • Work closely with enterprise account managers, marketing, and leadership to align strategies and drive efforts that enhance pipeline velocity.
  • Maintain detailed records of interactions and progress in CRM systems, ensuring a steady flow of qualified opportunities and a smooth handoff of leads to the Enterprise Account Managers when needed.
  • Stay informed on the latest news and trends to identify challenges and opportunities within higher education, ensuring a timely, personalized approach to prospecting.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed performance metrics, including lead generation quotas and conversion rates, while contributing to broader organizational goal

We're looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1+ years of proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably within the higher education sector.
  • Strong understanding of the higher education landscape, challenges, and decision[1]making processes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior-level executives.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo) and sales engagement platforms (SalesLoft, Outreach, LinkedIn, AI Tools)
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

The pay for this position is $42-200-$63,000 annually, however, base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sales commission plan will be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
