Job Description Job Description: EBAD's continued growth requires an accomplished engineer for the position of Project Engineering (PE) Manager, reporting to the Engineering Director.The position is in Simsbury, CT. The PE Manager is responsible for leading a group of Project Team Leads within the Electronics Development Engineering group. This role requires an experienced professional with a problem-solving mindset, excellent leadership abilities, and strong people management skills. The Project group is responsible for coordinating work between functional teams to ensure that technical development milestones are achieved, and program scope is managed to contract requirements. Responsibilities:
- Determining staffing levels and building high performing, diverse, and flexible teams that meet our customer project performance needs now and into the future.
- Leveraging experience and expertise to mentor, train, and develop individual and overall team capabilities. Providing appropriate training and development opportunities that stretch team members in valuable directions, and close gaps.
- Driving project success by ensuring use of consistent, rigorous engineering processes, tools, methods, standards, and techniques. Build and drive a culture of engineering problem solving, RCCA, and striving for efficiency gains by using data.
- Building a team which integrates EBAD's development process into customer and internal development program schedules.
- Gathering and analyzing data to identify and resolve systemic issues faced by the team.
- Establishing, measuring, and driving improvements in standard work, processes, and procedures required for their team to be successful in a changing environment.
- Supporting customer interface activities, customer problem resolution, and employee relations/morale as a member of the EBAD management team. Facilitate a successful team-based organization.
- Streamlining development schedules and working with the Product Development Manager to improve our development process and associated development roadmap.
Requirements: - BS/MS in an engineering discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product development of aerospace, missile, and/or defense products.
- Proven Leadership of technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge and advanced proficiency of Project Management toolsets (MS Project, Risk based decision making, proposal generation, task baselining, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex products through all stages of new product development, including rapid prototyping, design verification, manufacturing process development, qualification, and transition into production.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills for interaction with customers and all levels of management.
- Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management.
- Knowledge of explosive material ordnance devices and/or missile/launch vehicle systems as well as experience with manufacturing processes, rapid prototyping and/or product development is beneficial.
- Must have or be able to obtain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance and be capable of working on U.S. DoD and ITAR restricted products.
