Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Development Manager, Business Intelligence.

In this role, the successful Development Manager for Business Intelligence (for NYU Langone's Office of Development & Alumni Affairs) is a seasoned professional with a deep passion for leveraging business intelligence and analytics to boost fundraising efforts. This role involves leading the strategic application of analytics across the department, setting the vision for how data can inform and transform fundraising strategies. The Manager will spearhead initiatives to develop and implement analytical tools, foster data-driven decision-making, and lead the conversation between front end users and backend developers.The Manager of Business Intelligence will collaborate with various teams to understand their data needs, driving projects from concept through to execution. This includes defining project scopes, overseeing the collection and analysis of data, and ensuring the delivery of insights through advanced visualization techniques. A key part of this role is translating complex data insights into actionable strategies, promoting data literacy, and leading the education and development of UX (User Experience)/UI (User Interface) design for the Office of Development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead UX/UI design projects for BBCRM (Blackbaud CRM), gathering business requirements and translating them into intuitive, functional interfaces.
  • Collaborate with designers while also independently developing wireframes, prototypes, and front-end enhancements as needed.
  • Gather and document clear business requirements while ensuring alignment with data governance guidelines
  • Assist with the documentation of business processes and data flows
  • Capture technical documentation such as data dictionaries, source to target mapping, and code repositories
  • Assist and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across all fundraising analytics
  • Educate departments on new BBCRM deployments and developments, providing follow-up training to ensure adoption and effectiveness
  • Proficient in coding with Python, SQL, and HTML for data analysis, automation, and web-based solutions
  • Partner with other technical stakeholders to communicate business needs
  • Research new methodologies in analytics to improve overall team performance, team knowledgebase and tool suite
  • Work within data ecosystem, developing queries that support fundraising analytics
  • Provide accurate, formatted information for immediate operational use at all departmental levels
  • Combine data from multiple sources to assist in the analysis of projects
  • Validate data thoroughly to ensure integrity
  • Map and visualize data lineage
  • Perform data analysis including but not limited to: correlation, impact, distribution, trending and projection
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Blackbaud CRM and Luminate Online
  • Work closely with other team members within a matrixed environment on the implementation of new technology and or data/analytic projects
  • Other duties/projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • 5-7 years of experience in data analytics, visualization, and modeling
  • Experience working in healthcare development preferred
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles, with the ability to both collaborate with designers and independently create wireframes, prototypes, and front-end solutions
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Advanced use of SQL Server Business Intelligence Tools, R, Python and other analytical/report query tools
  • Skills in UX design principles to create user-centric interfaces that are accessible and engaging
  • Understanding HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks, would be preferred but not necessary
  • Blackbaud CRM experience is helpful
  • Strong Server and Database Skills: Particularly with the MS SQL Server platform; Writing queries in SQL; Writing Stored Procedures and expressions
  • Experience using and maintaining code repositories such as Git and Azure
  • Possesses strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to drive progress both independently and as a team member

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.15 - $120,000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
