Department's Website: The duties of the instructor include strengthening departmental excellence through developing and teaching core undergraduate courses, mentoring and advising students on career options in mechanical engineering, participating in teaching-centric professional development, and providing service activities commensurate with the position. This position requires face-to-face instruction. Applicants should have a minimum of an MS degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field, from an ABET accredited institution. Applicants should also be committed to undergraduate education and demonstrate the skills and/or industry experience (e.g., manufacturing, design, or consulting) necessary to be an effective mechanical engineering educator. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working in industry. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. About the College of Engineering: For the 2023-2024 academic year, the College of Engineering supports 113 tenure/tenure track faculty and 32 clinical research faculty to mentor 3,349 undergraduate and 1,123 graduate students, awarding Bachelor of Science degrees in ten disciplines, Master of Science degrees in fourteen disciplines, and Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering across ten concentrations. In FY2024, the College of Engineering's new research awards are over $46M with multiple centers, core facilities, and multi-disciplinary partnerships across campus.
