Operations Associate

Saba Capital Management, L.P. seeks an Operations Associate in New York, NY to perform daily reconciliations of trades, investment positions and cash balances to external third parties including banks, prime brokers, counterparties and custodians. Requires a Master's Degree in Finance, Economics or related field or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in financial services, monitoring bank debt settlement processes and workflows for performance evaluations and fund allocation; mitigating financing costs by allocating trades to counterparties in REPO, SWAP, and PB deals; performing daily analysis of LMV, P&L, FX exposure, securities pricing, operations reports, risk reports, credit activity, and SPAC premium/discounts; using Python, VBA and Power BI to improve workflows; assisting new fund launches in setting up new portfolios for order management systems and fund accounting management systems; booking Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPAC) splits and ensuring common shares and warrants splits are accurately instructed to prime brokers; identifying short trades to ensure delivery of shares on time under Central Securities Depositories Regulation (CSDR) regulations; maintaining and monitoring initial margins in risk systems; compiling execution reports and ETF quarterly reports; confirming end-of-day positions within file and workflow manager systems and ensuring buy-in notices are timely handled to obtain funds and allocate in compliance with regulatory requirements; conducting cash and collateral reconciliations to ensure internal balance matches and resolving any breaks including dividends and withholdings; handling the booking and settlement of OTC products including swaptions, interest rate swaps, and TBA; and monitoring current positions that are set to expire including futures, options, and forwards, to close the positions properly.
