OVERVIEW: Job Title: Batch Plant Labor Location: Transient - Travel will be required Job Type: Hourly - Full Time Work Schedule: Monday - Friday some Saturdays depending on the project schedule Performance Evaluated by: Batch Plant Supervisor, Batch Plant Manager, and Director of Concrete Manufacturing ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: *RC will gladly provide a reasonable accommodation to assist in performing these essential job functions so long as it does not create an undue burden.
- Work in a high production environment, confined spaces and from heights
- Assist in disassembly of portable plant, move and set up on new location and operate
- Safely and effectively operate various hand and power tools, and shovel sand and stone as necessary
- Perform routine maintenance on concrete batch plant and associated equipment including changing of bearings, idlers, cylinders, load cells, cleaning of components, lubrication, etc.
- Strictly adhere to and effectively follow all safety and environmental rules, guidelines, and trainings
- Loading, unloading, sorting, and organizing materials at the jobsite, including product tanker trailers
- Be self-motivated and work productively
- Perform other assigned duties
EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working with a concrete batch plant a plus
- Experience on a construction site is a plus
- Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance for military base access
- Have a reliable method of transportation to timely arrive and depart at the beginning and ending of each shift
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas
- Ability to repeatedly climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist throughout the workday and week
- Ability to use hands and fingers to feel and grasp objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to reach overhead and out at shoulder height with arms and hands
- Ability to speak and hear to communicate and receive signals in a loud environment
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and transport up to 75 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to climb up and down a 20-foot ladder and balance
- Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks
- Employee is regularly exposed to noise, dust, and various types of smells
- Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.
- Employee is regularly exposed to wind, cold, wet, hot, and/or humid conditions, and all extreme outside weather conditions
- Employee must be able to properly use and handle toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Employee is regularly exposed to vibrations, high precarious places, and confined spaces
- Employee is expected to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area
