Position Summary
Standardized Patient actors will be used to observe how Medical Support Personnel take blood pressure measurements. During the Active Implementation Phase, feedback and recommendations for improvement will be delivered by the Nurse Coordinator. Likewise, patient actors will be used to observe how Care Teams act when a blood pressure measurement is in the severe range. The patient actors will be working directly with the Perinatal Nurse Coordinators.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Our SPs come from all walks of life and bring a variety of experiences with them. They generally have an interest in education and personal health. They have excellent communication skills and are patient with those who are learning new skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Interest in health equity
- Interest/experience in feedback mechanisms
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Must have flexibility to participate in clinic observations and simulations that take place usually between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM.
