Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
This position will assist in video practices and game footage as well as individual workouts; editing/post-production of game/scout film/highlight videos and breakdown of game/scout footage/exchange to opposing schools. Candidate will put together clip tapes for team and individual players for UNC; assist in monitoring UNC player's Facebook and Twitter accounts; assist with monitoring ball kids for each home game and all other duties assigned by members of the coaching staff.
Position Summary
The Basketball Video Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of video production and analysis for a basketball program. This includes filming games and practices, editing video for coaching analysis, managing video databases, and assisting coaches with scouting reports and player development materials. The role requires a strong understanding of basketball strategy, high-level attention to detail, and proficiency in video editing software.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Deep understanding of basketball tactics, terminology, and game flow. Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, SportsCode). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and travel with the team.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Exposure to course work in sports management, communications, or related field. Experience with the Men's Basketball program; experience with video production and technology; experience in sports video graph and experience with Sports Tech software programs; knowledge of the day-to-day operations of the athletic program and understanding of basketball game concepts. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and travel with the team.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to perform under strict time deadlines.
