Job Description

Job Summary

Under the direction of Smith College Principal Investigator Alicia M. Grubb (Computer Science), the Research Assistant will conduct and document research observations. The objective of this project is to create a framework that integrates RE techniques with development activities. The Research Assistant will perform experiments in support this project. This position is a great opportunity for someone wanting additional research experience upon completion of a bachelor's degree and before applying to graduate school programs. The position is funded for from July 2025 to June 2024.

Essential Functions:

Conduct and Document Research Experiments

Perform laboratory experiments.

Investigate alternative hypotheses.

Utilize all software relevant to experiments and equipment used.

Maintain accurate records and document modifications to protocols.

MINIMUM REQUIRED Qualifications (education, experience, certifications, licenses, knowledge, skills)

Bachelors degree in Computer ScienceData Science, or related field.
At least one year of experience working in an experimental research environment, which can include summer research and part-time undergraduate research experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Training in Requirements Elicitation

Skills

Ability to commincate effectively (written/verbal English).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
