Statement
The Rutgers Center Advancing Research and Evaluation for Person-Centered Care ( CARE-PC) is a cross-disciplinary partnership mobilizing resources across the multiple schools and institutes of Rutgers Health. The Center serves as a hub for person-centered research across Rutgers that connects researchers with clinicians who are addressing health disparities and barriers to care among all patient populations. Our goal is to better enable patients across health systems to make informed health decisions and play a role in their own care. By bringing together aligned research areas under one mission, the Center improves clinical practice and patient experiences through critical examination of hurdles and facilitators to building caring and healing relationships. Research outcomes that break down these barriers stemming from cultural, language, social, and economic differences between clinicians, health care staff, and patients will ultimately help bridge greater communication, leading to enhanced care. Altogether, the Center serves as a coordinated, interdisciplinary community of health care, health services, and public health research professionals working together to assess and address factors that impact patient care.
