Job Description

Description:

This candidate will actively support the product engineering team with hands on lab work and data analysis. The products being developed are crucial to sterilization efforts of medical instruments within the healthcare industry. Work is performed independently in a shared lab environment.

Responsibilities:



  • Performing standard and routine testing using sterilizing equipment to determine specific characteristics and performance of materials
  • Operating and maintaining a variety of lab instruments including sterilization vessels
  • Sample preparation, data analysis, documentation and interpretation of results, and preparing detailed reports as required
  • Participating in the establishment of new product specifications, test method development and new equipment qualifications as needed
  • Documenting results in an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) following standard documentation practices



Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or applicable scientific field
  • Previous lab experience and/or knowledge of routine testing procedures and equipment
  • Experience with sterilizers or autoclaves a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Understanding the basic concept of measurement systems, testing and calibration



This position will require good time management skills and a high level of independence after the training phase. Good organizational skills, record keeping and follow through will be integral to success. The candidate will need to communicate effectively verbally and by e-mail.
