SUMMARY: We are currently seeking a EVS Operations Supervisor to join our Unit/team. This full-time/part-time role will primarily work on-site/remote/hybrid (SHIFT). Purpose of this position: Provides direct leadership and guidance to staff to ensure that high level of cleanliness, quality and service is achieved and maintained. Assist with CMS and other regulatory compliance initiatives. A $500 hiring incentive is available for eligible external candidates (current employees, contract/temporary workers, and former employees returning to HHS within one year are ineligible). RESPONSIBILITIES: Customer Relations
- Monitor service binders in assigned areas on a daily basis taking appropriate action to alleviate concerns/comments
- Respond to concerns and requests with a sense of urgency and take necessary corrective action when needed
- Educates patients on services provided by Environmental Services; probes for concerns, needs, and impressions of service. Identify through interviews, discussions or observations opportunities to improve patient services experience
Operation Excellence
- Proactive approach to identifying and correcting facility quality assurance concerns; timely follow-up required. . Work collaboratively with nursing, EVS staff and fellow management to enhance all patients' experience-resolving patient/family concerns, addressing special requests, identifying creative approaches to pilot or implement with senior management approval
- Plan and coordinate project work to ensure that proper frequencies are maintained
- Ensures duty lists are revised and current at all times
- Monitor daily equipment use, cleaning and maintenance
- Participate in facility quality assurance program as required. Ensure high quality percentage of cleanliness is maintained in assigned areas of oversight. Perform quality assurance inspections daily or assigned
- Handles or delegates special requests or projects as assigned
- Ensures that proper supply control guidelines are followed and staff is trained in the safe and effective use of all chemicals
- Ensures housekeeping office, storage and closets are clean, organized, well maintained and professional in appearance at all times
People Management
- Coaching hourly staff. Design group employee recognition and training programs every other month. Additionally, design and administer one-on-one and small group hospitality or job specific/focused training for hourly employees
- Encourages and nurtures staff creativity and innovation within the healthcare program
- Assign staff to established work areas of project duties
- Reviews duty lists with regular and relief staff periodically
- Assign equipment to staff
- Participates in staff selection process and interviews candidates as needed
- Ensures that staff receive proper orientation, initial and on-going training
- Approves days off, holidays and vacations, ensuring the facility's needs are meet in accordance with hours and position controls
- Provide and monitor individual guidance/motivation of staff to enable full potential performance
- Discipline staff when necessary according to progressive disciplinary guidelines; monitor staff attendance and take proactive action when patterns of absenteeism are observed
- Participates in and sometimes conducts performance evaluations of staff and makes recommendations as needed
Administration
- Conducts, oversees and directs the providing of in-service training for department employees;
- Insures compliance with hospital, housekeeping, and safety standards;
- Evaluates and updates housekeeping standards and procedures;
- Evaluates quality of housekeeping services provided;
- Inspects all work areas including those cleaned by contractual services;
- Assists in evaluating and recommending the purchase of equipment and supplies;
- Assists in the processes of Interviewing, selection, and evaluation of employees in addition to the progressive disciplinary process;
- Prepares reports and maintains records;
- Participates in special projects;
- Plan staff work schedules
Performs duties of Operations Manager as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- A minimum of two years related supervisory experience; OR five or more years' experience in healthcare related environmental services or related with two or more years demonstrated leadership potential including extensive knowledge of cleaning methods/processes, products, and equipment/machinery

- An approved equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- A two year degree or higher in a relevant program
- Current or past certification and membership in a Housekeeping Related Association locally or nationally
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively in written formal and oral presentations from hourly staff to ELT level
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities for daily and weekly work
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and ability to train hourly workers in appropriate customer service techniques
- Ability to maintain organization and control in an ever-changing environment
- Must exhibit self-initiative, accountability, flexible and good leadership skills
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures
- Must understand and conceptualize working knowledge of EVS to meet established goals and objectives
- Must be proficient in the use of Bedtracking and paging system(s) as well as Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to perform cleaning tasks and operate associated machinery;
- Ability to train, evaluate performance and supervise departmental staff;
- Ability to enforce departmental and facility policies including safety practices;
- Ability to schedule work assignments;
- Ability to prepare and maintain appropriate records and reports;
- Ability to demonstrate use of existing and new equipment;
- Ability to make rounds of facility intermittently throughout the work shift;
- Ability to provide leadership team with updates regarding departmental staff and work situations;
- Ability to take appropriate action to identify and correct problems in departmental operations;
- Ability to accept responsibility and accountability for cleanliness of facility
