Claremont, CA Job Posting Title: Technical ManagerJob Description: PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Technical Manager is responsible for supervising technicians and the production coordinator to advance programs and events. Proficient with technical sound, lighting A/V, and recording/editing functions of Scripps College's Performing Arts Center (PAC), Balch Auditorium and various campus facilities for both academic and public events. The technical manager works with IT, Media Services, Public Events and Facilities staff to coordinate event set-up, facilities improvements, and repairs. The technical manager works closely with several departments outside of Public Events, including Music, Dance, Humanities Institute, CORE Program, IT, and Facilities, and coordinates the technical requirements for external groups renting PAC facilities as well as various campus facilities. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability to perform the job. Minimum of 5 years' experience in audio-visual and technical production assignments. LICENSES / CERTIFICATES: None. OTHER: HOURS & CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS: This is a regular status, full-time, 12-month, benefits eligible, non-exempt level position. Specific hours will vary due to the needs of the College or the department. Evening and weekend availability is required. Hourly rate range: $30.00-$36.00. The hourly rate of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, andtraining. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Supervises Production Coordinator, technicians, and students from the departments of Public Events and Media Services.
