Job Title: Industrial Engineer D Location: Pascagoula, Mississippi General Function The Industrial Engineer D leads and completes moderately complex industrial engineering assignments. This role emphasizes statistical data analysis to enhance production flow, optimize cost and schedule performance, and increase overall operational efficiency. Typical Duties and Responsibilities * Process Optimization: o Analyze and design operational sequences and workflows to enhance efficiency in production facilities and equipment layouts. o Establish methods to maximize the utilization of production spaces and labor resources. * Cost and Inventory Management: o Conduct studies related to cost control and reduction, inventory management, and production record-keeping systems. * Earned Value Management (EVMS): o Apply EVMS techniques to assess cost and schedule performance. o Evaluate EVMS output trends to identify potential risks and opportunities impacting company financials. * Production Efficiency: o Utilize industrial engineering techniques such as line balancing and time studies to optimize direct/indirect labor and material flow. * Workflow & Equipment Utilization: o Recommend changes to sequences of operations, equipment usage, and related functions to improve productivity. * Safety and Training: o Assist in developing accident prevention initiatives. o May oversee training programs covering various aspects of production operations. * Strategic Deployment: o Perform bottleneck analyses and develop value stream maps to support strategic planning. * Facilities Planning: o Collaborate with facilities engineers in the design and planning of physical production spaces. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities * Familiarity with EVMS principles and implementation * Advanced understanding of industrial engineering standards and systems * Knowledge of product launch management systems * Strong written and verbal communication skills * A proactive attitude and ability to act with urgency * High degree of computer literacy Experience and Training * Minimum of 3 months' experience in industrial engineering, shipbuilding, or production processes * Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience preferred Bollinger is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing employment opportunities to minorities, females, veterans and disabled individuals, and without regard to sexual orientation and gender identity. |
