LPN

Position Summary:

The Montefiore Licensed Practical Nurse contributes standards of the practice of nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing's Social Policy Statement.

The LPN actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced score card performance measures for the Montefiore Medical Center. Participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. Demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served.

He/She is committed to maintaining the standards of the practice of nursing and responsible for the delivery of care to the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or elderly patient within their scope of practice.

Education, Training & Experience:

• New York State License for Practical Nurse and current registration to practice as an LPN in New York State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Effective English communication skills, written, oral and interpersonal.
• Ability to use basic data entry and retrievalsystem.
• Additional education required by specialty areas/patient care locations.
