Join Pemex Deer Park as a Staff Electrical Engineer and take ownership of electrical systems supporting specific Production Units and Electrical Programs, working within a complex power infrastructure that includes utility feeds, cogeneration units, and nearly 300 substations across multiple voltage levels. You will be a key technical resource, collaborating with cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, maintenance, and external partners. Using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) practices and advanced analysis, you will drive reliability, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous operation of the site's 24/7 electrical systems—all while managing diverse priorities and technical interfaces without direct reports.

To succeed as the Staff Electrical Engineer, you must have:

  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in large petrochemical or refinery environments; familiarity with high- and low-voltage systems and power generation equipment.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70/70E, API, NEMA, ANSI; TA3 (Technical Authority) designation preferred; skilled in equipment inspection and maintenance best practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office, SKM Power Tools, PowerDB, IMS, and SAP; familiarity with electrical modeling and analysis tools.
  • Ability to travel as needed; Spanish language proficiency preferred for effective communication across international teams.
  • Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills; able to work collaboratively and adapt quickly to new technologies and challenges.

 

Staff Electrical Engineer’s responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical leadership for MOCs, complex asset strategies, electrical safety, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Identify and resolve recurring issues, obsolescence risks, and reliability challenges through strategic planning and problem-solving.
  • Develop and maintain long-term reliability strategies, including a 10-year roadmap for electrical infrastructure upgrades and modernization.
  • Support operations and maintenance by delivering preventive maintenance plans, guiding repairs, and ensuring quality assurance for electrical projects and turnarounds.
