As a Senior Product Manager - Readers, this role will focus on end-to-end creation of reader platforms and solutions within the HID Physical Access Control Solution (PACS) reader portfolio.

The role is an inter-disciplinary position that is forward-thinking, focused on defining and building the reader product reader for best-in-class performance and customer experience.

To be successful in the role, the candidate must have considerable experience (minimum 7 years) in product management and the physical access control industry with an emphasis on new technologies, electro-mechanical systems, and software/firmware platforms.

You will be expected to take lead and deliver on initiatives that will drive innovation concepts, define current and next-generation device platforms and topologies, and stand-up new product/service offerings that solve future problems, today.

You will work in a global team with business/epic owners, partners, architects, ionnovation, engineers and cross-business unit/area professionals to harmonize platform capabilities for the next-generation of readers.

As our Senior Product Manager, Readers, you'll support HID's success by:



  • Define the strategic vision for the reader product offerings, with the primary goal of enabling paradigm-shifts to solve long-standing market problems.
  • Harmonize leadership, business and technical input to implement new technologies, platforms/products, and GTM concepts.
  • Execute the current and next-generation reader product vision and roadmap based on the broader HID and PACS strategic themes, solution visions, and business priorities and aspirations.
  • Define clear and actionable product capabilities that address internal, external, and market problems for which value can be extracted.
  • Drive outcomes, institute a results-oriented mindset, develop and implement metrics that evaluate effectiveness of the product line in relation to lean budgets and guardrails.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies for new launches, at both the product and ecosystem level.
  • Collaborate with broad-range of cross-functional and cross-business area teams, using Agile SAFe methodologies, to align marketing, sales, and product unit teams to drive revenue growth and/or profitability.
  • Product management experience across multiple customer types, technologies, development methodologies, standards and regulations.
  • Market focused mindset and ability to identify and anticipate market and business needs.
  • Strategic thinking and effective management on complex projects.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo while leading teams analyze and solve problems in new manners.
  • Demonstrate cross-functional leadership and collaboration with a diverse range of teams, at varying organization and skillset levels.
  • Ability to make difficult trade-offs with intelligent risk taking.
  • Pro-active, hands-on and self-motivated, strong documentation skills.
  • Product development expertise from concept to product launch.



What we will love about your background:

  • Excellent communications skills, able to convey complex information clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience.
  • Experience with product development and product management tools, such as Jira, TestRail, and Miro is beneficial.



Your Experience and Education include:



  • Bachelors Degree - Engineering or related field (Master degree is beneficial but not required).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Product Management, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of contactless RFID readers, including embedded hardware, firmware with IoT, cloud, and mobile touch-points.
  • Strong knowledge of the physical access control and/or physical security industry.
  • Experience with IoT and networking technologies/topologies for online device management.
  • Experience with Agile development and lean innovation practices.
  • Training in SAFe such as Implementing SAFe and / or SAFe POPM.
