Overview
The Finishes Technician Journeyman will install, maintain, and repair a diverse array of floor coverings and/or apply paint to walls, ceilings, and furniture for USU Housing buildings. Incumbents work as a member of a team to complete tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Knowledge and skill in surface preparation, application techniques, paint mixing and matching, wood finishing, staining, and varnishing.
  • Ability to utilize spray guns and related equipment.
  • Work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Skill in performing routine manual labor.
  • Ability to operate painting equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers.
  • Cleans equipment, shop area, and work site.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to develop, plan and implement short and long-range goals.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety procedures.
  • Must be punctual to work.


Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
  • Four years of experience in Painting, Flooring. Incumbents must possess journeyman skills and/or a license.

Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects.
