The qualified candidate for this position will provide PRN coverage for local high schools and other community events. Nights and weekends preferred.

Ridgeview Rehab has been offering sports medicine services to the west metro since 1986. We are a growing network of health care providers in need of an athletic trainer with exercise physiology, orthopedic rehab and sports medicine talent. Responsibilities


  • Travel to contracted high schools to provide athletic training services on an as needed basis to covered events and/or after school hours signed up for and facilitated by Ridgeview Sports Medicine Coordinator.
  • Responsible for the assessment, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of acute, chronic, and emergency injuries and illnesses.
  • Communicate with patient, health care providers, insurer and others to ensure that patient needs are addresses.
  • Effective injury documentation and communication to appropriate staff members.
  • Event and after-school hours may range from 0-25 hours/week.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities


  • Ability to work independently and organize tasks
  • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
  • Ability to exhibit flexibility, self-control and maturity in work and behavior
  • Ability to promote Rehab Specialties services
  • Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team
  • Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above


License/Certification


  • Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in Athletic Training
  • Certification as an athletic trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC)
  • Licensed in the State of Minnesota as Athletic Trainer or eligible for licensure
  • Current Emergency Cardiac Care (CPR/AED Certified)
