Compensation Grade: P18Compensation Details: Minimum: $66,442.00 - Maximum: $66,442.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPH) CEH - Bureau Of Occupational Health And Injury PreventionJob Description: Responsibilities The Research Scientist I will work as part of a team of public health professionals and provide support in various research tasks related to motor vehicle crashes, injuries, and their prevention. The role will involve formatting and organizing data sets, contributing to the creation of statistical summaries, and the interpretation of routine research results, including the development of charts, tables, and graphs. The incumbent will also contribute to disseminating research findings and data with relevant stakeholders. The Research Scientist I will use injury surveillance systems to help identify at-risk populations, predict patterns, and recognize risk factors related to motor vehicle injuries, and perform other related tasks as needed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of research experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field and one year of research experience. Preferred Qualifications A Master's degree in Epidemiology or Statistics. Experience in injury and/or occupational surveillance and epidemiology, conducting epidemiological research, statistical analysis, and data dissemination. Experience in SAS. Working knowledge of public health. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Travel, up to 10% of the time, will be required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
