Compensation Grade: P14Compensation Details: Minimum: $53,357.00 - Maximum: $53,357.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPH) CEH - Bureau Of Occupational Health And Injury PreventionJob Description: Responsibilities The Data Administrator II will request, review, and abstract data reported to program responsible for investigating deaths in New York for the New York Violent Death Reporting System (NYVDRS). The incumbent will help to ensure all required information is obtained the from coroner/medical examiner (C/ME) and law enforcement (LE) reports and provide technical assistance to the C/ME and LE agencies as requested. The incumbent will abstract data based upon established CDC guidelines and enter the data into the CDC web-based software called the Secure Access Management System (SAMS). The incumbent will perform on-site data abstraction at reporting sources as needed. The incumbent will provide training and supervision to staff and will be responsible for assisting with the documentation of NYVDRS procedures and protocols. The incumbent will assist to engage data providers to build and strengthen relationships and other appropriate related duties. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Statistics or a related field; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and two years of experience in data quality control, data quality improvement and data collection; OR four years of experience in data quality control, data quality improvement and data collection. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of violent deaths. Experience with the New York Violent Death Reporting System (NYVDRS) or a similar system. Experience death record data abstraction. Experience with medical/criminal terminology, and working with confidential data. Experience with the Secure Access Management System (SAMS). Experience in injury and/or occupational surveillance and health. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel, up to 10% of the time, will be required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
