Director of Molding Operations

Reporting to the VP, North American Operations, this senior-level role leads all aspects of Molding Operations at our Bolingbrook facility. The Director of Molding Operations will translate business strategy into plant-level execution, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and labor effectiveness across a high-volume, high-complexity molding operation. With direct responsibility for production management and plant operations, this tactical leadership position will partner closely with the Director of NA Molding Technology to deliver excellence in molded product performance and delivery. This role is accountable for executional performance and workforce leadership, supporting the company's growth, quality standards, and customer commitments

As a Director of Molding Operations you will:



  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Bolingbrook molding facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and effective production across all shifts and molding cells.
  • Supervise and coach Production Managers, overseeing ~200+ hourly employees to meet or exceed performance metrics.
  • Manage production scheduling, staffing levels, and resource deployment to meet customer commitments and optimize throughput.
  • Implement best practices for plant operations including 6S, visual management, and daily tiered accountability meetings.
  • Drive results across key KPIs including safety, on-time delivery, scrap, productivity, and labor utilization.
  • Identify and remove production bottlenecks, escalating systemic technical or material issues to Molding Technology or Supply Chain teams.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Materials, Engineering, and Maintenance to solve operational issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Partner with HR on staffing strategies, shift structure, employee development, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, work instructions, and production protocols.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration with planning, finance, logistics, and leadership teams to align priorities and resolve escalations.
  • Contribute operational input into site-level capital planning and capacity management in coordination with Molding Technology and OpEx.
  • Participate in operational reviews and contribute to strategic projects as needed


We are looking for someone with:



  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A strong background in production management, shift supervision, or plant operations, with experience managing hourly and salaried teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume production setting,
  • A proven track record of improving safety, productivity, quality, and cost in manufacturing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead structured daily management processes.
  • Effective communicator with ability to align frontline teams to business goals.
  • Comfortable working in close coordination with technical, supply chain, and lean teams.
  • Hands-on, collaborative leader committed to team development and performance.


Ideally you will have:



  • Experience in molding environment is preferred, ideally involving thermoplastic or thermoset materials


What we offer you:

Typical pay is $131,918 - 174,763 annually.

This position is eligible for participation in our Quarterly Incentive Pay Program
