Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Charleston, TN

Salary: $101,000 to $150,000
Schedule: 9/80 available

Focus: The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer provides maintenance engineering support of ongoing and new operations and supports organizational and facility goals and objectives. The Maintenance Engineer will provide mechanical engineering support to the plant by performing engineering analysis and calculations and assisting with plant troubleshooting, and recovery from day-to-day events.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Essential Job Functions:

  • Analyzes opportunities for improved plant operations and equipment based on feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinates project planning, development, and execution to meet operational goals.
  • Defines project scopes with cross-functional teams and prepares Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs), including cost control and reporting.
  • Develops material and equipment specifications for competitive bidding; reviews bids and advises Purchasing.
  • Leads Maintenance Excellence initiatives and supports the Mechanical Integrity Program.
  • Applies engineering analysis to reduce equipment failures and address emergent repair causes.
  • Collaborates on Process Safety Management (PSM) practices and standards.
  • Supports Root Cause Analysis and assists with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Reduces equipment failure losses to enhance reliability and asset utilization.
  • Designs and implements reliability strategies for key production equipment.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Minimum Requirements:

  • Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree* in Engineering PLUS 2+ years of maintenance or reliability engineering experience; mechanical engineering degree preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree* in Engineering Technology PLUS 4+ years maintenance or reliability engineering experience
  • Knowledge of fixed equipment and applicable codes (tanks, heat exchangers, piping, API, ASME, etc.)
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment and design (ANSI pumps, centrifugal/reciprocating/liquid ring compressors, centrifuges, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with managing vendor proposals and quotations, contractor bids and development of desired solutions for projects; previous experience in reviewing contractor and vendor work quality is preferred.
  • Certification in technical skills (vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication, etc.) preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP, AutoCAD and Visual Basic preferred.
  • Basic understanding of project management preferred.
  • Willing and able to travel occasionally to other Olin locations for meetings/training opportunities.
  • Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
