JOB SUMMARY - ROC OPERATOR The primary responsibility is to remotely operate multiple production units simultaneously by analyzing the information from advanced control systems to drive plant performance expectations. ROC operators work shift work, as set by the ROC Manager, requiring nights and weekend coverage. The ROC Operator role is based out of the Irving, TX Office inside the Remote Operations Center. Essential Functions Maintain safe, reliable and efficient operation of multiple production units simultaneously. Adjust plant control variables and process equipment parameters to drive plant performance expectations. Optimize plant performance by tracking performance data and implementing the best operating plan for all respective plants. Assist with or lead starting and stopping of plant machinery and processes in a safe manner as dictated by operating conditions and business needs. Troubleshoot the causes of plant operational issues and alarms, either directly or in conjunction with the local team, and take corrective actions. Log all process changes, alarms, and communications with plants Enter accurate and precise event logs in a timely manner. Complete station rounds in a timely and efficient manner and take appropriate action if KPIs are outside range. Accurately complete the station's Shift Summary Report. Effectively complete shift changes by following shift change procedures to ensure thorough transfer of knowledge to the next shift Review and release medical grade product per FDA regulations. Complete all training and best practice assignments such as Learn Share, Master Control tasks, Progression, etc. Additional responsibilities/qualifications for the following ROC Operator Roles: Shift Lead- Overseeing ROC Operators and ROC Medical Release Clerk on shift to ensure procedures are being followed and business goals are being met Coverage-Plant Coverage, ROC Shift Lead or ROC Operator Coverage- Flexibility to help wherever needed, including Field Assignments Required for All Jobs Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards QUALIFICATIONS Education High School diploma or equivalent - Required Associates degree in Process Technology or equivalent - Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with preference to Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial disciplines - Preferred Work Experience Experience Details 1-3 years Industrial work with pumps, valves, compressors/turbines - Preferred 1-3 years Chemical Plant Operations Experience - Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Intermediate computer skills, especially with SCADA systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of ASU process theory and related equipment associated with the process. Ability to effectively communicate through excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Analytical and critical thinking skills to identify potential problems, analyze data, prioritize, and implement solutions. Proficient in organizational skills to plan, organize, and coordinate work with ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects. Ability to read and understand technical process and equipment drawings including PFDs, P&IDs and Equipment Diagrams. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS Working Condition: ROC Operator portion of role will be performed primarily in an office environment, requiring extensive daily usage of a computer, and other office equipment. Working Condition: The Remote Operation Center is a 24/7 facility that requires rotating day and night shift coverage. Employees will be required to work weekends, holidays, days and nights as required by their assigned schedule. Working Condition: Field Coverage will potentially occur where ever Matheson has a facility, and during any season. Physical Demands: Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Physical Demands: Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus. Working Condition: This role will be performed in office environments as well as in industrial field environments. While performing duties of this job it would occasionally be required to: Be exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme cold (e.g. operating plant). Be exposed to outside weather conditions (e.g. cold box valves, filling trailers). Be exposed to high, precarious places (e.g. cold box, repair work) Be exposed to high noise levels (e.g. Plant rounds, maintenance) Working Condition: May also be required to work from a home location, which must be conducive to performing the role and duties, including virtual/video meetings. Working Condition: Must sign NDA, have a clean driving record and pass background check and drug test.
