Job Overview:

The Value Stream Manager is an operations leadership role for the Sedalia, MO plant. This position has the responsibility for overall performance in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, customer service, and cost improvement. This role will have functional support resources (direct or indirect) reporting to this role. This role is responsible for building a winning culture of employee engagement, the development and execution of annual business plans, deploying sector and enterprise initiatives, accurate and timely forecasting with limited data, and attaining productivity goals by continuous improvement through utilization of Execution Excellence tools and methodology.

Responsibilities:


  • Development of an engaged, team-based workforce that manages daily improvement by using lean sigma techniques and daily metrics in safety, quality, customer service, cost improvement and innovation.

  • Development of plan for the implementation of a continuous improvement culture. Define and educate the workforce on a lean transformation plan to achieve future state targets and ensure the Value Stream Analysis results equal or exceed defined targets, while also providing key deliverables in the areas of quality.

  • Support the development and delivery of the annual Sedalia, MO, operating plan to support the Ingersoll Rand business strategy. Develop and execute plans to meet Employee Efficiency while meeting customer satisfaction improvements through on-time shipment and proper product inventory mix through schedule attainment.

  • Assessment and development of appropriate manufacturing bench strength for assigned area to develop a high performing team that will directly be in support of planning and business objectives.

  • This position is responsible for coaching and improving individual employee performance to acceptable standards, including but not limited to, safety, attendance, workmanship, job performance, and mentoring of group leaders/team leaders, supervisors and associates.

  • Support of the execution of plant-wide communication plans and initiatives with employees in area of responsibility.



Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/ university or 10 years of equivalent technical discipline.

  • Expertise in lean philosophy and application of tools to lead high performance work teams.

  • Low volume/high mix manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • Exceptional leadership, motivational, and project management skills with the ability to drive project-specific issues and goals to closure.

  • Ability to integrate business, manufacturing, leadership and technical elements.

  • Good analytical skills, demonstrated by both quantitative and qualitative data analysis and decision making for basic problem solving.

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to enhance a team environment, including development of team-oriented subordinates.

  • Must possess clear thought process of defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions using problem solving methodologies.

  • Assure employees are consistently trained and developed so that talent is retained and succession plans remove gaps in bench strength.

  • Able to make timely decisions in stressful situations.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of management.



Preferences:


  • Master of Business Administration preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership experience or a similar role is preferred.
